Board accepts $10,000 Carnegie gift, approves FY27 budget

Dighton Library trustees accept $10,000 Carnegie gift, approve minimum FY27 budget. Library Director Mark Procknik reported the $10,000 donation from the Carnegie Corporation of New York. Trustees Rita Araujo and Ann Meitzen voted to accept the gift.

The board unanimously approved the fiscal 2027 budget of $315,984, the state-mandated minimum for library certification. However, Procknik warned that the library's state certification faces jeopardy if the town's proposed debt exclusion fails.
