Board approves FY27 budgets and community initiatives

DIGHTON — The Board of Selectmen advanced extensive fiscal year 2027 budget recommendations at the March 25 meeting. Chairman Peter Caron and Selectman Reuben Pacheco recommended approximately 29.9 million dollars in combined departmental and enterprise fund budgets across debt exclusion and non-debt exclusion scenarios, including 2.1 million for police and 850,000 dollars for fire services. The Board heard from Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School Business Administrator Nadine Rose regarding a FY27 assessment to Dighton of 1.9 million dollars.
In other actions, the Board approved a memorial bench donation for Savannah Salemme at Tricentennial Park, authorized a Farmer's Market with 28 interested vendors at 25 dollars per vendor, and approved Eagle Scout community bench projects at multiple park locations.
