DIGHTON — Board of Selectmen denies motor vehicle dealer license after fraud investigation. The board voted unanimously to deny Steven Remy's Class II Motor Vehicle Dealer License application, finding him not a proper person to conduct business. Deputy Police Chief Ryan Richards' June 8 correspondence detailed an investigation into fraudulent vehicle sales using a Maine dealer license to circumvent Massachusetts consumer protections, low-value and salvage vehicles, missing recycling licenses, and victims reporting aggressive conduct and threats; Remy has been formally charged.
The board also appointed Kendra Easterday to the Cable Committee and waived tax-status requirements at 620 Spring Street through August 30 to enable property repairs while the owner pursues a delinquent tax repayment plan.
