Board reorganizes, reestablishes 40B housing committee, approves FY27 warrants

Dighton Selectmen reorganize, revive 40B housing committee with board liaisons. Mark Pacheco was elected Chairman, Glen Cabbage as Clerk, and Peter Caron as Member in the annual restructuring. The board unanimously reestablished the Forty-B Fair Housing Committee, inactive since 2019, to manage affordable housing development and oversee the state-mandated Housing Production Plan; the committee will comprise seven voting members and six liaisons from town boards.

In parallel warrant approvals, the board endorsed a $855,256.39 Fire Department budget, $360,000 for FY26 snow-and-ice deficit reimbursement, and $295,854.45 for a new highway four-season plow truck. Paul Reed was appointed as part-time Public Safety Dispatcher; John P. Rufo was appointed to the Board of Registrars.

Two department manager positions are opening: Sewer Department and Inspectional Services, both Grade 8 at $27.90 per hour, with applications due April 30, 2026.
