DIGHTON -- March 18, 2026, Dighton Stormwater Committee extends a commercial permit and identifies a $20,000 drainage mapping project as its top FY27 budget priority. The four-member committee voted unanimously at its March 18 meeting to tentatively extend the expired stormwater permit for Eamon Plumbing and Heating at 2231 Elm Street through December 15, 2028, pending written confirmation from service manager Jennifer Heaney and payment of a $65 fee. Member Nancy Kulad read Heaney's email into the record and disputed the company's claim that a Weston and Samson inspection proposal exceeded the scope of required oversight, stating flatly that "planning board regs do not cancel stormwater regulations and requirements." On the budget front, engineer Jerry Schwartz submitted a prioritized four-item FY27 needs list totaling approximately $51,000; the committee selected only the top item, additional mapping of drainage infrastructure in urbanized areas at $20,000, to advance alongside the existing $15,000 compliance testing line. A separate $23,000-plus Weston and Samson proposal for basin capacity testing at the MACS Arudio Farm site, transmitted January 5, remains unanswered and unpaid.
