Planning Board advances solar moratorium toward town meeting
Planning Board · Meeting of March 18, 2026
DIGHTON — The Dighton Planning Board scheduled a public hearing on a proposed two-year solar moratorium that would temporarily prohibit large-scale ground-mounted solar installations and energy storage systems through June 2028, while small-scale and roof-mounted installations would remain allowed. The board will present the measure to voters at the June 2027 Annual Town Meeting. The board also unanimously continued a special permit and site plan review hearing for a proposed 4-bay contractor garage at 553 and 543 Center Street to April 1, 2026, allowing time for additional peer review presentations on parking, landscaping, and stormwater details.
