Dighton Board of Selectmen unanimously approves composting program targeting $26,000 annual savings. The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved an outreach initiative presented by Colonel Robert Perry of the Waste Reduction Committee to make composting bins available through the Board of Health at $30 each, projecting that full participation could divert 250,000 pounds of annual food waste and reduce disposal costs accordingly. The board also unanimously approved trash bag vendor agreements with Hannaford's offering 15-day payment terms and Johnny's Market; approved a sick time donation policy capping employee contributions at 12 weeks to align with federal FMLA leave; and added a Planning Board vacancy to the April 11 Annual Town Election ballot following Robert Woods' resignation effective April 10.
