DIGHTON — Selectmen forward 6.2 million Muddy Cove Lane project to Planning Board. The town's road improvement initiative includes 3 million dollars in state support and was unanimously approved by the Board of Selectmen, with Town Administrator Ralph Vitacco noting that State Representative Auchincloss' office is aware of Dighton's financial condition. The board unanimously approved a letter supporting safety signage near Dighton Elementary School and approved 238 hours of sick time donations.
The board tabled a Highway Department Operator Class I position pending additional review, as Superintendent Tom Ferry noted the department faces aging equipment and staffing shortages of two operators.
