Selectmen Open Annual Meeting Warrant, Approve Swap Shed Policy

Dighton selectmen open fiscal 2026 town meeting warrant for June 1 meeting. The board unanimously approved the Dighton Swap Shed Policy, which establishes rules for a municipal exchange facility with operating hours from April through December, limits of three items per visit, and prohibitions on large appliances and hazardous materials. Chairman Caron and Selectman Pacheco appointed Michael Duffy as a part-time police dispatcher; Police Chief George Nichols indicated he would ideally like four dispatchers on staff.

The board approved six warrants totaling approximately $4.4 million and set a schedule for fiscal 2027 budget presentations in March and warrant article recommendations through May.
