Dighton Commission on Disability Votes to Buy Branded Water Bottles for Summer Outreach

DIGHTON — June 5, 2025 — Dighton Commission on Disability approves water bottle purchase for summer accessibility outreach. The commission voted unanimously at its June 5 meeting to buy up to 500 logoed water bottles — quoted at roughly $1.02 per bottle with a vendor setup fee waived — to accompany bicycle helmets already obtained through a separate Dighton Police Department grant. ADA Coordinator Jonathan Gail said final quantities will depend on pamphlet printing costs, which he will confirm with a town color-printer contact before the fiscal year 2025 spending deadline at the end of June. Gail also reported a record 43 resident disability-related inquiries in May, covering summer program access, street signage for residents with disabilities, and sidewalk obstruction concerns. A commission-approved letter regarding the accessibility of the lower-level Town Hall threshold is expected to be taken up by the Select Board at its June 11 meeting.
