Dighton Assessors Approve Over $12 Million in FY26 Tax Commitments

DIGHTON — June 25, 2025 — Dighton Board of Assessors approved more than $12.3 million in fiscal year 2026 preliminary tax commitments at its June 25 meeting. The largest item was a preliminary real estate commitment of $9,921,954.55, representing the first two quarters of FY26 estimated billing. District commitments included $637,242.64 for the Dighton Water District, $44,550.62 for the Dighton Electric Light District, $37,254.08 for the North Dighton Fire District, and $79,996.14 for the Community Preservation Act. The board also approved FY25 revised bills for 2386 Pleasant Street, a property that had been misclassified with two houses on one lot, and revised personal property bills for solar farms DG Dighton 1 and DG Dighton 2 at 2734 Elm Street totaling $6,367.38. FY26 is projected to be the first year all private solar pilot agreements are fully billed, with estimated revenue of $334,517. The meeting closed with a unanimous vote to enter executive session on a pending tax valuation case.
