Dighton Board of Health Adopts Dumpster and Portable Toilet Regulations

DIGHTON — January 20, 2026 — Dighton Board of Health formally adopts dumpster and portable toilet regulations at January meeting. The board voted unanimously to approve both policies at its January 20 meeting, with clerk Vincent Hebert reading the full dumpster regulation text into the record as required. The dumpster policy, dated November 18, 2025, requires waste haulers to obtain a Board of Health permit and bans dumpsters from town ways; emptying is restricted to between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. The portable toilet rules require at least one ADA-compliant unit at events and construction sites, mandate one unit per 10 workers, and set 100-foot minimum distances from food-service areas. The board also approved a lengthy list of annual permit renewals, designated items A through BBB, and cleared reimbursement for a Title V septic inspector training course after the health agent announced she would complete certification Friday; a $165 Mass Recycle Conference registration was also approved after an outside alliance agreed to cover the fee at no cost to the town.
