Board of Health · Meeting of February 17, 2026

Dighton Board of Health votes to seek competitive bids for pay-as-you-throw trash bags, citing a missing vendor contract. The two-member quorum, board member Christopher Isibor and Clerk Vincent Hebert, meeting by Zoom with Chairperson Tammy Mello absent, voted unanimously to authorize Health Agent Elizabeth to solicit at least three bids from vendors including current supplier Waste Zero, after the town accountant identified the lack of a formal contract for the over-$10,000 arrangement. The board also unanimously approved unspecified budget revisions prepared in two scenarios depending on whether a debt exclusion passes, and approved a full permit slate covering stables, food vendors, disposal works, and stormwater permits.

Town Nurse Rebecca Mitchell reported 74 influenza cases and 26 coronavirus cases in January and announced a free mammogram van will serve up to 15 Dighton residents at the Council on Aging on March 11.
