Dighton Planning Board Approves Center Street Mixed-Use Permit With Operating-Hours Condition

DIGHTON — April 1, 2026 — Dighton Planning Board approves mixed-use special permit at Center Street, continues Hart Street subdivision to May. The board unanimously approved a special permit and site plan for Kyle Lagoch and Brad Staples at 553 and 543 Center Street on Wednesday following a completed peer review by Weston and Sampson engineers, attaching conditions including a performance bond, construction pollution controls, a restoration bond, and a novel operating-hours restriction of 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week — which the board acknowledged has no precedent in town bylaws for this type of use. A two-lot definitive subdivision at 728 Hart Street, named Hart's Memory and proposed by Antonio P. Roderick, received its first public hearing presentation from engineer Tom Morris of Zenith Consulting Engineers, who outlined approximately 20 requested waivers from subdivision regulations, a constructed stormwater wetland basin, and a 384-foot gravel access road — four feet short of Dighton's minimum dead-end length. The Conservation Commission flagged it has not yet received a Notice of Intent for the project. The board continued that hearing to May 6, 2026.
