Dighton Select Board Approves Seven Appointments in Single Meeting Session

DIGHTON — May 27, 2026 — Dighton Select Board approves nine appointments and waives right to purchase a $1.25 million land parcel at May 27 meeting. The board unanimously approved three part-time public safety 911 communications dispatchers — Julia Duzan of Middleborough, Lady Ana Martina-Silva of Bridgewater, and Jake LaPlante of Taunton — recommended by Police Chief Nichols, who noted the department has struggled to retain part-time communications staff. Two existing town employees received promotions: Ashley Dagnall was named department manager for the newly created Inspectional Services position, and Heather Nicora, a nearly seven-year highway department employee, was appointed department manager for the sewer department following the retirement of Diane Curtis. The board also approved a job description and internal posting for a highway office manager to fill the vacancy Nicora's move creates. Fire Chief Christopher McGee's letter secured approval for six new call personnel — Megan Burry, Kyle Arangelo, Ian Beyer, Cameron Sick, Logan Estes, and Dylan Cumbas — effective June 1. On a Chapter 61 land matter, the board waived the town's right of first refusal on a parcel under a $1.25 million purchase offer, following recommendations to waive from the Planning Board, Conservation Commission, and Assessing Department. Town Administrator Glenn reminded residents that the annual town meeting, featuring 31 warrant articles, is set for Monday, June 1, at 7 p.m. at Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School.
