Dighton Select Board Ratifies Union Contracts, Advances School Building Manager Search

DIGHTON — June 11, 2025 — Dighton Select Board ratifies union contracts and hears $65-75 million school building cost projection. Superintendent Anthony Rooney, chair of the school building committee, told the board that 10 of 12 firms that toured the school facility submitted Owner's Project Manager proposals by Wednesday's deadline, with the MSBA reimbursement rate of 55.63 percent putting the estimated local share of a $75 million project at roughly $33.3 million. The board ratified labor agreements with Dighton Highway Local 1701 and Dighton Police Officers Local 306, authorized a renewed three-year trash removal contract with Gorgeous Trucking, approved a 28-hour-per-week health agent position at $41.17 per hour, and waived the town's first right of refusal on two William Street parcels formerly classified as agricultural land. The board also rescinded a common victualler license for Triple T's Diner after the applicant withdrew, and Town Administrator Keven Donahue confirmed the sanitation enterprise fund — tabled but not defeated at Monday's annual town meeting — remains a live option for the fall warrant.
