Dighton Assessors Approve $2,238 Excise Abatements, Update Signing Authority

DIGHTON — May 27, 2026 — Dighton Board of Assessors approves $2,238 in motor vehicle excise abatements and releases a 46-acre parcel from farm tax protection. At its May 27 meeting, the board unanimously approved the monthly motor vehicle and trailer excise abatement list totaling $2,238.22, then voted to release a Chapter 61A agricultural and recreational land classification on a 46.56-acre parcel at Map 21 Lot 20 on William Street, noting the landowner had already paid the $106 rollback tax. Members also amended and approved a signature authority designation form naming Stephanie Schechter as primary and a board associate identified only as Nancy as secondary signatory for payroll expenditures, explicitly excluding warrant authority. The board then voted unanimously to enter executive session under MGL Chapter 30A, Section 21A, Paragraph 7 to address personal property matters and federal grant compliance.
