Dighton Assessors Approve More Than $11,400 in Abatements and Exemptions

DIGHTON — April 1, 2026 — Dighton Board of Assessors approved more than $11,400 in combined motor vehicle and real estate abatements and exemptions at its April 1 meeting. The board, with members Eric Easterday and Nancy Gulbach present alongside the chairwoman, unanimously passed eleven separate abatement, exemption, and warrant-commitment lists covering fiscal years 2025 and 2026. The largest single item was a real estate exemption list dated March 30 totaling $3,817.12; motor vehicle abatements for FY2026 totaled $3,069.72. Two supplemental motor vehicle excise warrant commitments — described as rebills prepared by staff — were signed for $237.65 and $157.02. The board also approved North Dighton Fire District and Community Preservation Act abatement lists before entering executive session at 9:54 a.m. under MGL Chapter 30A, Section 21A, subsection 7, citing federal grant-in-aid compliance requirements, with no return to open session.
